Technique for exporting and emailing images from the Bio-Ray digital system
First, create a folder on your computer under “my documents” for all exported radiographs. Name it “exported dental radiographs”. Enter the “Layout-progression (i.e.- the view that holds multiple smaller thumbnail-sized images). You will need to export images one at a time. Select the image you wish to export. This is done by left clicking on the selected image. The box around the image will be highlighted, indicating that it has been selected.Under the “advanced tab” on the left side of the screen, select “export”. A dialog box pops up asking what you want to export. Make sure that the button titled “current image” is selected and hit the “OK” button.
Navigate to the folder you created in step one and name the file so it includes the name of the patient and quadrant the film was taken from. Examples: (Sparky right upper.jpg , Fluffy left lower.jpg , Spike left upper.jpg)
Make sure that JPEG is selected as the file type.
Hit the “Save” button.
Repeat the above for each radiograph you wish to export.
Once you are familiar with the process, it will take around 10 seconds per image to prepare them for export.
