Technique for exporting and emailing images from the Schick digital system

First, create a folder on your computer under “my documents” for all exported radiographs. Name it “exported dental radiographs”. Starting with the basic template screen (i.e.- not the zoomed single image) select the image (s) you wish to export. This is done by left clicking on the selected image. If you wish to export more than one image of a set, you can select multiple files by holding down the control key while selecting your images. This will export the images in the order that they are on the screen (starting top left and going across the top row, and then to the next row starting on the left). If you have any concerns regarding which image is which, export one at a time.

Once the image(s) are selected, left click on the x-ray/image button on the toolbar and scroll down to export. This will bring up a “save as” screen. At the top left of this screen, there is a “save in” box. By left clicking on this box, drop down to find the “exported dental radiographs” folder and then create a new folder (button for new folder is on top right) with the patients name +/- ID number within the folder and open that. Then go down to the bottom of the box and there will be a space for file name. Name the image as to the tooth, teeth or quadrant imaged. Examples: (Sparky right upper.jpg , Fluffy left lower.jpg , Spike left upper.jpg

Just below that is another box named “save as type” and in the box it will say “Targa FORMAT”. Left click on the box and drag down to JPEG FORMAT to select this type. Then hit “save” in the bottom right corner and you are done. Repeat this for each image. After the first image, the rest will go to the same folder, but you still need to name it and CHANGE THE FILE TYPE to JPEG.
After you have exported all the files, they can be uploaded to the website.
